The swine flu incubation period was said to be just 24 to 48 hours, but it can range
from a day to five days. In most cases in the US the swine flu ranged from two to seven
days. The exact swine flu incubation period is still not known as it varies in different
cases and places. But it is important to be vigilant and keep a strict eye on the
symptoms for a week and then for around 10 days to be really safe.
The symptoms to look out for during the incubation period are similar to the regular
influenza virus: fever, cough, body ache, headache, sore throat, fatigue, vomiting,
diarrhea and breathing disorders. This virus spreads from one infected person to
another, through sneezing and coughing. The swine flu virus lives on surfaces so one
can get it by touching an infected surface and then touching one’s nose, eyes or
mouth. The following measures should be taken: washing of hands regularly, using
sanitizers, refraining from touching one’s mouth, eyes and nose, wearing flu
facemasks and respirators that are designed to keep out or filter viruses, staying away
from crowded places etc.
A peculiarity of this swine flu is that it affects young people between 20 to 40 years – in
their prime. It is disconcerting that people have very little or no immunity against this
virus. According to the NBC Chief Science and Health Correspondent, the swine flu
incubation period is determined to be just 3 to 4 days.
Top priority is to be given to personal hygiene in order to reduce the risk of infection.
The Smittstopp spray is an anti-viral spray that is highly effective in keeping the
environment free of dangerous microorganisms, viruses and bacteria. Usages of this
spray on surfaces have proved that there is long term protection from the influenza
virus. The Smittstopp spray bonds very tightly to any surface. It coats the surface with
positively charged cationic polymer which forms a thin layer once the spray dries. This
layer acts like a strong magnet to the negatively charged viruses and bacteria- anionic
microorganisms – and attracts them to the surface whereupon they are instantly
destroyed. This spray therefore works on the principle of “Electrostatic attraction”.
Common sprays should not be used on top of the Smittstopp sprayed surface as these
sprays are anionic (negatively charged) and will neutralize the effect of the cationic
polymer on the microorganisms.
Use the Smittstopp spray on personal items like clothes, hand bags, purses, keys, cell
phones etc. This will reduce the risk of infection. Public places like train and bus
terminals, libraries, shopping malls, schools and colleges, should make it mandatory to
use the spay on surfaces that are being constantly touched by the public like railings,
switches, knobs, table tops, taps, handles etc.
Once the Smittstopp spray is used, its effects are long lasting. The spray prevents the
viruses from breeding and spreading into the environment. Tests have also proved that
clothes that were sprayed by this spray were still free from viruses and bacteria after
almost 20 washes.
Extreme care should be taken to follow the precautionary measures recommended by
health authorities during the swine flu incubation period. The person who shows
symptoms of the swine flu must get immediate help and medication and should be
quarantined so that others do not get infected. Early detection of the disease increases
the chances of cure. Therefore it is up to every individual to be vigilant and keep the
level of personal hygiene at its highest.
